WHAT CAN CHANGE WITH ANIMAL WELFARE SUPPORT?

REDUCTION IN STRAY DOG POPULATION

The most obvious difficulties hinge on overpopulation and incidents consisting of barking, biting, defecating or chasing behaviours. This is due to appalling rate of sterilizations by Government bodies and fast-urbanization of urban and rural Bengaluru. This has escalated human-stray dog conflicts.

PREVENTING DEATH FROM RABIES

“Over 90% of India’s reported human rabies cases are from rural areas, where people often do not have rapid access to vaccines or may rest on traditional and faith healers that are completely vain against this deadly virus.”

REDUCTION IN HUMAN-ANIMAL CONFLICTS

Almost every stray dog in both urban and rural Bengaluru are homeless facing daily adversities such as harsh weather, lack of food/water, no safe space to sleep, and are at least once a day inflicted with violent human behaviour. As they say, “Dogs don’t bite, ill-treatment does”.

ANIMAL WELFARE AWARENESS

With 13.2 Million people living in Bengaluru as of 2022, 0.6 Million stray dogs can have a home (22 people: 1 stray dog). Each One, Save One: To introduce this known concept of involving, communities, individuals, businesses and even the government in participating and saving lives of each and every street animal. Promoting acceptance of these street animals as part of the society and understanding their importance of their existence in human lives.

EMPATHY IN CHILDREN

Several studies demonstrate that children who care for animals feel more empathy towards other people/animals and grow up to be successful adults. The world just needs more kind people to make it a better place.
